School Priorities 2022-23
Our key improvement priorities for the forthcoming year are as follows. Everyone in our school community - leaders, staff, governors, MAT, pupils and parents - has a key role to play in ensuring our school provides the very best for our children, enabling them to achieve well.
PRIORITY 1. Ensure high standards for all pupils
- To rapidly improve student outcomes as per agreed targets so 2022/23 KS2 outcomes for accountability measures are above floor standard in KS2 in reading, maths and writing
- Develop the explicit teaching of vocabulary to narrow the gap to within 5% gaps in the progress of, PP, SEND, gender, ethnicity and other groups.
- All pupils will be making at least good progress
PRIORITY 2. Promoting pupil well-being
- All pupils settled back in school and back on track with learning
- A full year of high quality teaching and learning for all pupils in school
- Range of extra-curricular running and well attended
PRIORITY 3. Promote St Matthew’s widely and proudly so that we become a school of choice for staff and parents
- Excellent early years provision
- Strong progress and attainment, particularly at the end of Key Stage 2, which attracts parents
- Marketing of the school and sharing of successes to ensure local and wider community have confidence in the school
- Prospective parents are aware of our unique selling points, skills / experience of staff, successes of previous pupils and our range of provision available for: SEND, GD, Sports, Music, Wider opportunities
PRIORITY 4. To maintain our excellent SIAMS rating and inclusive church school ethos
- Link with international charity firmly established
- School values promoted by all staff and recognised by all pupils
- 100% of RE teaching good or better in half termly monitoring
